  1. Talk on calgo meeting 21-Oct-2003: "Ring of fire" noise: study and correction

To remove the "ring of fire" noise you should remove all bad luminosity blocks. The lum block call bad if any "ring of fire event" was found. The bad luminosity blocks list was produced using MHT30 skim. The runs diapason is 175030 - 180956.

This ASCII file contains the bad luminosity list. One string - one luminosity block. Format: lum_block_number run_number. Because the list was produced on selected events, one can not guarantee that all bad luminosity blocks were found. Spectrum of the bad luminosity block
fraction in the run.
Fraction == number of bad luminosity blocks / number of analyzed blocks.

This ASCII file contains the good luminosity list. One string - one luminosity block. Format: lum_block_number run_number. Because the list was produced on selected events, one can not guarantee that all good luminosity blocks are in the list. Moreover, it is possible that some of this block are bad, but the bad events was not selected and hence not found. The bad list and good list form the list of analyzed luminosity blocks.

This ASCII file contains the runs list with number of good and bad blocks.
Format: runNumber number_of_god_lum_block number_of_bad_lum_block (bad_lum_block_fraction)
The bad luminosity block fraction in the run vs the run number.
Fraction == number of bad luminosity blocks / number of analyzed blocks.
